This is an exceptional opportunity to lead and shape the pensions policy, governance and oversight agenda across Aviva Ireland. As Head of Pensions Policy, Governance and Oversight, you will provide strategic leadership across a complex pensions landscape, ensuring a consistent, effective and forward-looking governance framework that supports both regulatory requirements and business objectives.

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Development & Assurance, you will be a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, leading regulatory engagement, governance oversight and risk management activities across the pensions value chain. Working at the forefront of strategy, regulation and business performance, you will influence key organisational decisions while helping to deliver strong outcomes for customers, trustees, regulators and Aviva Ireland.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, coordination and oversight of Aviva Ireland's pensions governance framework, ensuring strong alignment across functions, regulatory requirements and strategic objectives.
  • Act as the organisation's senior pensions governance leader, providing expert guidance and direction on complex pensions policy, regulatory and governance matters.
  • Own strategic engagement with regulators and external stakeholders, including oversight of regulatory submissions, responses, escalations and pensions-related regulatory positioning.
  • Establish and maintain effective governance structures, decision-making forums and oversight mechanisms across pensions activities, including Master Trust arrangements and trustee engagement.
  • Drive robust risk and control frameworks, ensuring clear accountability, effective issue resolution, strong governance standards and ongoing regulatory compliance across the pensions value chain.

Skills & Experiences

  • Significant senior leadership experience within pensions, financial services, regulatory affairs, governance, risk or a comparable highly regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of pensions regulation, governance frameworks and regulatory engagement, with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead enterprise-wide initiatives across multiple business functions and governance structures.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex risk, control and oversight frameworks while balancing commercial, operational and regulatory considerations.
  • Exceptional communication, judgement and relationship-building skills, with the credibility to represent the organisation at executive, trustee and regulatory level.
