We have a fantastic opportunity for a Head of Risk – Specialty and Lloyd’s to join our Commercial Lines business to cover a parental leave. This is a great job for someone who wants to join a dynamic and commercially-focused Risk team that supports Aviva's UK General Insurance (GI) London and Lloyd’s market.
A bit about the job:
You will act as a risk business partner for the GCS (Global Corporate & Specialty) business, including company and syndicate platforms, representing the "shop window" of the Risk function and bringing in the relevant experts at the right time. You will provide strategic insight and a consolidated view of the GCS risk profile, through the coordination of second line activity whilst also offering a deep understanding of current and emerging risks. You will also be responsible for integration activity including alignment of the Risk Management Framework across company and syndicate platforms.
Leading a team of four direct reports, you will also be responsible for delivering governance and reporting requirements for the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of the Lloyd’s Managing Agency.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Broad understanding of UK (PRA/FCA/Lloyd’s) regulatory landscape, market dynamics and commerciality. Prior experience working within Lloyd’s market preferred. Prior experience with corporate governance (e.g. boards and committees) desirable.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex risk information in a clear and concise manner, facilitating collaboration between Risk teams and business divisions.
- Ability to align risk management strategies with the overall business goals and objectives, ensuring that risk management efforts support our strategic direction.
- Capability to proactively identify emerging risks and vulnerabilities, allowing their market to stay ahead of potential threats and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Ability to contribute to the business by not only mitigating risks but also finding opportunities for innovation, growth, and efficiency within a risk-aware framework.
