Internal Communications Executive – Salary up to £40,000 depending on experience

This is a fantastic opportunity within the Aviva Brand and Corporate Affairs Internal Communications team, based in London. You’ll be part of our Internal Communications team supporting our UK General Insurance market.

As an instrumental part of the team, you’ll help to build and deliver all the components of the annual colleague comms plan, including sourcing and delivering great stories for different channels and audiences – so you need to have a good nose for a story, and excellent written skills.

You’ll also be managing stakeholders, contributing to our event strategy and building measurement and insight into everything we do to push us to world class.

You’ll be an adept planner, proactive and analytical in nature, and able to influence both through personal impact and using relevant data and insight. You’ll keep our internal communications foundations running like clockwork for the market.

If this sounds like you and you’re looking for somewhere that’s rewarding and recognises you when you do your best work, we’d love to hear from you.

A bit about the job:

The successful individual will be working closely with the wider Internal Communications team to make sure communications plans and campaigns are built to support the specific needs of the business, whilst delivering creative assets and content that fits with the team’s strategic priorities – always thinking outside of the box and bringing outside inspiration in.

You will be decoding sometimes complex subjects in a way that feels simple, builds understanding, and helps create the right connections. You will also be a writing guru – writing briefs, writing plans/stakeholder comms, writing for impact, always with the end audience in mind.

This role will also include acting as a measurement lead, including weekly reviews of trackers, regular playback to the team on trends and insights, and quarterly packs for the executive team.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Communications experience needed (and/or evidence of professional qualification or membership, for example CIPR)
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to listen, challenge, and flex personal style as needed with people at all levels and backgrounds
  • Confidence to present ideas and recommendations, and respond appropriately when challenged
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – and active listening
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented and analytical
