About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to combine technical expertise with business impact. As we continue to modernise our data platforms and explore the potential of AI-enabled Business Intelligence, you'll play a key role in delivering trusted insights that help colleagues make better decisions and improve outcomes for our customers.
A bit about the job
As a Lead BI Developer, you'll help shape how data and insight support decision-making across our Personal Lines business. Working as part of our Business Intelligence team, you'll lead the development of trusted dashboards and reporting solutions that help colleagues make informed decisions.
You'll work closely with stakeholders to understand priorities, improve data quality and deliver meaningful insights. You'll also help evolve our cloud-based BI platform and support the adoption of modern reporting technologies. Your work will have a direct impact on business performance and customer outcomes.
What you'll be doing
You'll work closely with stakeholders across the Personal Lines business to understand their data and insight needs, helping to prioritise improvements that deliver the greatest value.
You'll design, build and enhance self-service dashboards and reporting solutions using tools such as Qlik Sense and Power BI, while using SQL and Snowflake to explore, transform and analyse data. As a senior member of the team, you'll champion best practice in reporting, governance, documentation and dashboard design, ensuring data remains trusted, accessible and actionable.
You'll also help drive the transition to our modern cloud-based BI platform, contribute to the future direction of Business Intelligence within Personal Lines, and support colleagues in making better, data-driven decisions that improve business performance and customer outcomes.
Skills and experience we're looking for
- Strong experience designing and delivering business intelligence dashboards and reporting solutions within a complex data environment.
- Strong SQL skills, with experience transforming, analysing and interpreting data to generate meaningful insights.
- Experience working within data governance and data quality frameworks, ensuring data is trusted, accurate and fit for purpose.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and work effectively in Agile teams.
- Experience with Qlik Sense, Power BI and Snowflake would be beneficial. Most importantly, you'll be passionate about using data to solve problems, influence decision-making and deliver business value.
