Legal Counsel
Aviva Ireland are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Life & Pensions business on a 12‑month fixed term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide integrated in‑house legal, regulatory and governance advice within a strategically important and fast‑paced environment. You’ll be part of a collaborative and highly respected legal team, supporting key business initiatives and managing diverse stakeholder relationships across Ireland and the UK. Based in our OPP Dublin office, you’ll report to the Head of Legal, Aviva Life & Pensions Ireland DAC. Duties & responsibilities
- Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to a range of business units across the Life & Pensions function
- Support the Head of Legal in identifying and managing legal, regulatory and reputational risks, with a strong focus on project work
- Deliver legal input on new business initiatives, programmes, services and product development
- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, influencing decision‑making at all levels
- Contribute to the wider legal team’s priorities, ensuring consistent, high‑quality legal support across the business
Skills & experience
- Relevant post‑qualification experience, ideally with in‑house exposure in Financial Services, a regulatory environment or large private practice
- Strong knowledge of the regulatory landscape; insurance experience desirable (pensions experience advantageous but not essential)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders
- Strong commercial judgement and critical thinking, with a solutions‑focused approach
- Proven drafting and negotiation expertise, with experience managing contracts from inception through to completion

The expected pay range for this role will fall between €90,000 and €110,000 and salary offered will commensurate with candidate's level of skills and experience.
