This is a great job for someone who enjoys working independently, building strong customer relationships and helping businesses operate safely and compliantly through expert engineering inspections.

We're looking for an Engineer Surveyor to join Aviva Engineering Services. This home-based role covers Cork city and the surrounding area, giving you the opportunity to work closely with local customers while being part of a national team of engineering specialists.

You'll take ownership of a portfolio of customers, delivering statutory inspections, identifying risks and providing practical engineering insight that supports both customer safety and informed underwriting decisions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deliver statutory inspections across Lifting, Pressure and Electrical plant, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and Aviva standards.

  • Manage a portfolio of customers, planning and completing inspections safely and efficiently within agreed timescales.

  • Identify and communicate engineering risks to customers and underwriters, supporting effective risk management and decision-making.

  • Complete specialist engineering assessments, including pre-purchase inspections and evaluations of repairs or alterations.

  • Produce clear, accurate inspection reports using Aviva's digital systems and contribute technical expertise to wider engineering initiatives.

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant engineering qualification, professional accreditation or equivalent practical engineering experience.

  • Proven inspection experience, with Lifting Equipment inspection experience essential.

  • Strong understanding of engineering defects, deterioration mechanisms and risk assessment principles.

  • Ability to build effective customer relationships, manage workload independently and prioritise competing deadlines.

  • Full clean driving licence and confidence using digital tools, including Microsoft Office applications.

The expected pay range for this role will fall between €65,000 and €70,000 and salary offered will commensurate with candidate's level of skills and experience.
