A bit about the job

We’re looking for an experienced Trading Underwriter to join our regional team and help profitably grow our commercial portfolio. You’ll be aligned to a set of brokers and customers, building close relationships, understanding their needs, and delivering whole‑customer insurance solutions.

This is a multi‑class underwriting role with responsibility for new business, renewals, and MTAs, and you’ll operate within your authority levels to write profitable, sustainable business. You’ll also represent Aviva in broker meetings across the South West, ensuring we remain their insurer of choice.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

• Proven experience in Property & Liability and/or Fleet underwriting

• Strong ability to analyse risk and communicate confidently with brokers and customers

• Experience working collaboratively within a large, complex organisation

• Good knowledge of FCA requirements and relevant insurance regulation

• Strong commercial business acumen with the ability to build compelling business cases
