This is a great job for someone who has experience in Personal Lines underwriting and enjoys solving complex underwriting queries while working collaboratively with customers, brokers, partners, claims teams and internal stakeholders. This role would suit an APA-qualified professional looking to broaden their underwriting expertise and contribute to service excellence across multiple distribution channels. This is a Fixed Term Contract until December 2027.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide underwriting expertise and support across Aviva Direct, Broker and Partner channels, ensuring decisions align with underwriting guidelines, authority levels and risk appetite.

  • Manage and resolve a broad range of underwriting queries and referrals from customers, brokers, partners, Claims teams and internal stakeholders through both telephone and email channels.

  • Support the resolution of complex customer service matters, including Financial Services Ombudsman cases, Declined Cases Agreement (DCA) referrals, complaints and policy investigation activities.

  • Deliver technical underwriting guidance on Home and Motor insurance products while building strong working relationships with internal teams and external business partners.

  • Contribute to quality assurance and governance activities, including PRQ and Scrutiny reviews, while driving continuous improvement and positive customer outcomes through effective decision-making and service excellence.

Skills & Experiences:

  • APA qualified as a minimum requirement, with some understanding of Personal Lines underwriting principles and practices.

  • Experience managing an underwriting caseload within a regulated environment, applying authority levels and following established processes

  • Detailed knowledge of Personal Lines insurance products, underwriting systems and business processes, with the ability to handle telephone and email queries effectively.

  • Strong relationship-building, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience using underwriting expertise to identify and implement process improvements. Knowledge of both Home and Private Motor insurance products is desirable.

This is a Regulated Role and will be subject to enhanced pre-employment screening procedures. There will be an on-going requirement for the role holder to maintain fit and proper status.

The expected pay range for this role will fall between €30,000 and €35,000 and salary offered will commensurate with candidate's level of skills and experience.
