We’re looking for a new member to join our Pricing team at Aviva Life & Pensions Ireland (ALPI). In this role, you’ll lead pricing projects across both Individual and Group Protection, while also shaping and overseeing our reinsurance strategy. It’s a great opportunity to work in a commercially focused team, supporting ALPI’s ambitious growth plans. You’ll collaborate with experienced colleagues, contribute to strategic decisions, and help deliver innovative, competitive, and capital-efficient solutions. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Lead Protection pricing projects- Develop and maintain pricing models, lead analysis for Individual and Group Protection, and present proposals to senior management at forums/committees. 

  • Support commercial decision-making- Monitor market trends, review special deal requests, and respond to Group Protection tenders with robust pricing analysis. 

  • Optimise reinsurance strategy- Review and manage reinsurance structures to ensure they support profitability and capital efficiency and lead annual strategy reviews. 

  • Engage with reinsurers- Build strong relationships with internal and external reinsurers, lead tenders, and manage experience data collation and analysis. 

  • Collaborate across the business- Work with key teams to ensure pricing and reinsurance changes are implemented effectively and aligned with business goals. 

  • Mentor and support the team- Share your expertise with junior team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and learning. 

 

Skills & Experiences 

  • Qualified actuary with strong life insurance expertise- You bring deep technical knowledge and a solid understanding of the life insurance market. 

  • Clear and confident communicator- You’re comfortable presenting complex ideas in a clear, engaging way—both in writing and in conversation. 

  • Self-motivated with a strong track record of delivery- You take ownership of your work, show initiative, and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes. 

  • Flexible and focused under pressure- You’re able to manage multiple priorities, adapt to change, and stay focused on what matters most. 

  • Protection pricing and reinsurance insight- Experience with Individual and/or Group Protection pricing, and familiarity with Protection and Financial Reinsurance structures, would be a strong advantage. 

  • Strong technical and regulatory skills- You’re confident using Prophet and Excel, with knowledge of SQL or Python a plus. You also understand Solvency II and the Irish regulatory environment.
