Pricing Specialist

Salary is Competitive

Location – Norwich or London

This role is ideal for someone with deep technical pricing expertise and hands-on experience in building and validating pricing models. You’ll thrive if you enjoy working with data and advanced modelling tools such as Radar and Emblem to create robust, fit-for-purpose models ready for implementation. Acting as the key link between analytics and pricing teams, you’ll ensure models are accurate, commercially valuable, and aligned with business objectives—while maintaining a strong technical focus and influencing pricing strategy without stepping away from the detail.

 A bit about the job:

You’ll work closely with the Retail team and other parts of Personal Lines Underwriting, collaborating with Trading, Finance, Claims, Risk, and especially the Analytics team—acting as the link between pricing and analytics rather than performing the analytics yourself. Your focus will be supporting the build and validation of technical pricing models, ensuring they are fit for purpose and ready for implementation.

You’ll analyse the commercial impact and performance of pricing actions both before and after delivery, and play a key role in delivering market-leading pricing and underwriting strategies that support the Channel business plans.

In addition, you’ll act as a coach and development point of contact for a team of Pricing Consultants, while following governance and regulatory processes. Throughout, you’ll ensure that customer and conduct outcomes remain at the heart of all pricing and underwriting decisions.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Technical Pricing Expertise – Strong experience in UK General Insurance pricing, ideally Home (Motor considered), with proven ability to build and validate models.

  • Modelling Tools – Hands-on use of Radar, Emblem and other pricing software to develop rating models.

  • Analytical & Validation Skills – Ability to challenge assumptions, validate outputs, and apply first-principles thinking to ensure accuracy and fairness.

  • Commercial & Collaborative Approach – Strong business acumen and ability to work effectively across analytics, underwriting, and trading teams.

  • Governance & Compliance Awareness – Understanding of regulatory requirements and governance processes in pricing and underwriting.
