Senior Directory Services Engineer – Salary circa £70.000

A bit about the job:

You will join our Global Enterprise Technology team to protect and modernise Aviva’s identity services. This role exists to ensure the stability and security of our Active Directory and cloud-hosted identity platforms. You will be accountable for the stability, security, and evolution of critical directory services, resolving complex technical issues and leading the transition to modern, cloud‑based identity platforms. By improving resilience across the identity control plane, you enable secure, frictionless access for Aviva colleagues and directly safeguard a highly regulated estate while shaping the future of Identity and Access Management.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Extensive experience managing Active Directory at Domain Admin level within complex, highly regulated, multi-domain environments.
• Deep technical knowledge of Active Directory architecture, including replication, Group Policy, sites and services, DNS dependencies, and secure configuration baselines, with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex directory issues
• Strong experience operating and supporting Domain Controllers in AWS, including hybrid identity and platform resilience, alongside hands‑on contribution to directory modernisation initiatives such as migrating from on‑premises Active Directory to cloud‑hosted or hybrid environments.
• Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to build, configure, and maintain Windows and directory services environments.
• Working knowledge of modern identity platforms such as Entra ID and SailPoint, with an understanding of how directory services integrate into broader IAM, governance, and security ecosystems

• Starting salary circa £70000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
