A bit about the job
You’ll join our Enterprise Integration team, helping us connect key systems across our insurance business were we build and run services that support customer journeys and internal platforms.
You’ll design, build and support backend and integration services using Java, Spring Boot and Apache Camel. You’ll create REST APIs, microservices and message-based integrations that connect key systems across the business. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer and business needs.
You’ll follow best practices across the software development lifecycle and work in an Agile environment. You’ll own your work end-to-end, from design and development through to CI/CD and deployment on EKS. You’ll also troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues across APIs, Camel routes and downstream systems.
Skills and experience we’re looking for
- Strong experience with Java (17+) and Spring Boot, building APIs and microservices
- Experience working with integration tools such as Apache Camel or similar technologies
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred), including services like Lambda, CloudWatch or configuration tools
- Knowledge of modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, Agile delivery, and container platforms such as Kubernetes/EKS
- Familiarity with monitoring and integration patterns, including tools like Prometheus/Grafana and working with legacy services (e.g. SOAP/WSDL)

- Starting salary circa £40k (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
