Senior Manager - Policy Framework, Change & Controls
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Manager – Policy Framework, Change & Controls to play a key role in strengthening how Aviva Life & Pensions Ireland manages policy, risk and change across the business. This is an influential, enterprise‑wide role where you’ll lead the implementation of our policy framework, oversee change risk management and drive the effectiveness of key controls in the First Line. Working closely with senior leaders, governance forums and assurance teams, you’ll help ensure we deliver good customer outcomes, meet regulatory expectations and build long‑term organisational resilience. You’ll join a collaborative team within Corporate Development & Assurance, reporting to the Head of Governance & Assurance, and be based in Dublin with hybrid smart working available.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and implement the enterprise‑wide policy framework, ensuring Group policies are effectively mapped to local regulatory and business requirements.
- Own and embed First Line change risk management across strategic, regulatory, technology and operational change, including go / no‑go decision governance.
- Drive the identification, assessment and ongoing effectiveness of key controls supporting critical services, products and processes.
- Provide clear risk insight and forward‑looking management information to Executive and governance forums to support informed decision‑making.
- Build capability, culture and accountability across the First Line to strengthen readiness, resilience and sustainable risk management practices.
Skills & Experience:
- Significant senior‑level experience in First Line risk, governance, change or controls roles within financial services or a regulated environment.
- Strong expertise in implementing enterprise policy frameworks, managing change risk and assessing control adequacy and effectiveness.
- Proven ability to influence, challenge and partner effectively with senior leaders across complex organisations.
- Knowledge of life and pensions business models and the Three Lines of Defence, with exposure to Central Bank of Ireland expectations.
- Experience leading large‑scale change initiatives, including technology upgrades and operational resilience considerations.
