Senior Software Engineer
We’re looking for a passionate Senior Software Engineer to join our Life Platform Team. You’ll help shape and manage the environments that support our agile delivery across multiple teams. This role is key to ensuring smooth releases, technical excellence, and operational stability. You’ll work closely with engineers, testers, and product owners to coordinate deployments and drive improvements. It’s a great opportunity to lead, mentor, and make a real impact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Define and maintain environment strategy and provisioning roadmap
You’ll shape the future of our development environments, working with DevOps and platform engineers to provision, optimise, and retire environments using modern infrastructure-as-code tools.
Coordinate releases across development, test, and production environments
You’ll manage the release calendar, ensuring smooth and timely deployments that align with agile sprint and programme increment schedules.
Track and manage technical dependencies and risks
You’ll map out cross-team dependencies, helping to identify and resolve potential blockers early to keep delivery on track.
Lead change governance and ensure audit compliance
You’ll play a key role in business readiness, leading go/no-go meetings, maintaining audit trails, and surfacing environment-related risks proactively.
Monitor environment health and publish regular status updates
You’ll provide real-time visibility into environment performance and usage, using tools like SolarWinds to keep stakeholders informed and confident.
Skills & Experiences
Strong background in software development, systems analysis or DevOps
Extensive experience with Java technologies and frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate, Maven, etc.)
Experience with scaled agile frameworks (SAFe®, DAD, LeSS, etc.)
Hands-on with CI/CD, Git, and modern deployment practices
Skilled in tools like Terraform, Ansible, Azure DevOps, Jenkins
Excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management
