Technical Assurance Architect – Salary £80,000-£90,000

Location: London / Norwich / Bristol

We are looking for a Technical Assurance Architect to lead a new Technology Assurance function in the Customer & Marketing Data department.

The successful individual will ensure operational excellence & continuous improvement, by defining and enforcing technical KPIs, quality metrics, and delivery standards. You will drive improvements in change delivery, introduce emerging technologies, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising performance or compliance.

A bit about the job:

The Architect will define technical governance, enforce best practices, and improve traceability and compliance across projects. They will also establish an internal trust portal to monitor and report KPIs, ensuring transparency from development teams to executives.

This role will ensure efficient operations among development and programme teams, align business and technology with Aviva's vision, and deliver high-quality outputs.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Technology Governance & DevSecOps Leadership - Led the establishment of technical assurance functions, aligning programme delivery with enterprise architecture, security, and regulatory standards (e.g., SOC2, GDPR); served as DevSecOps lead across ACF framework phases ensuring traceability, compliance, and business value delivery.
  • Enterprise Architecture & Platform Engineering - Deep expertise in cloud-native architecture (AWS, EKS, Containers, Serverless), microservices, event-driven design, and integration patterns; strong architectural leadership across MDM, Snowflake, and Martech platforms in regulated environments.
  • Risk, Controls & Compliance Oversight - Conducted technology assurance reviews, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing; ensured adherence to BP controls and IT standards, proactively remediating risks and aligning with internal audit and regulatory expectations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Alignment - Proven ability to influence C-level stakeholders, align technical initiatives with business strategy, and drive cross-functional collaboration across global teams and GSPs; established internal trust portals for KPI reporting and transparency.
  • Agile, DevOps & Delivery Enablement - Knowledge of PI planning, continuous KPI tracking, and agile delivery frameworks; Provide escalation support, and technical guidance across the programme lifecycle to enhance responsiveness, scalability, and delivery efficiency.

  • Starting salary between £80,000-£90,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
