A bit about the job: 

We’re looking for an Application Security Specialist to join a small, expert team delivering a range of AppSec services across Aviva’s markets.

As the profile of Application Security continues to grow within our business, you’ll help shape our developer community’s approach to secure development—driving improvements in culture, processes, tools, and frameworks.

You’ll be involved in threat modelling, application security testing, and supporting technical training for developers.

You’ll also help plan security defences for emerging platform technologies and contribute offensive security insights to proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities. 

Skills and experience we’re looking for: 

• Strong grasp of modern software engineering and secure development practices in agile environments 

• Knowledge of application security standards and methodologies, including threat modelling 

• Experience or interest in offensive security techniques like penetration testing and red teaming – alternatively experience with platforms such as Hack the box, in lieu of actual job roles  

• Familiarity with cloud security and / or platform hardening 

• Understanding of Secure Development Lifecycles and vulnerability research
