Technical Claims Team Leader

Aviva have a fantastic opportunity to join our ALPI DAC business as a Technical Claims Team Leader in our Cherrywood office. Reporting to the Risk Claims Manager, the successful candidate will lead a team of claims assessors and administrators with responsibility for the delivery of top quality claims service to our customers.
The successful candidate will build effective relationships via regular interaction with our broker network, as well as internal stakeholders and identify and implement process improvements in our service gaps. In addition they will also manage their individual team by planning individual objectives/ expectations and appraising the performance of members. There will be an ongoing need to assess skills and knowledge of the team members and the successful candidate will be tasked with a focus of maintaining a positive work environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Effectively manage work queues, ensuring prompt & accurate results
Continually monitor and check all Risk events & Errors have been properly recorded and resolved
Ensure a culture of proactive Complaint handling, with customer telephone contact, is embedded within the team
Consistently promote task ownership and a solution focused culture
Ensure we meet our obligations under CPC
Recognise & reward accomplishments within the team
Skills & Experiences:
Broad knowledge and experience in Life and Income Protection, the business processes/products and platforms/systems
QFA qualification (or equivalent) or working towards (Min APA)
Consistent demonstration of the Aviva values and behaviours
Understanding the risks facing our business, and ability to call out risks and work to ensure relevant controls are in place where gaps are identified
Understanding of the regulatory/legislative framework governing
Ability to quickly build positive relationships at all levels
