Contract: 12–18 month FTC opportunities

This will include building a successful network of internal and external relationships; responding to a variety of enquiries and meeting high standards to ensure customer satisfaction.

A bit about the job:

We’re recruiting for Underwriting Assistants, Assistant Underwriters, across a range of specialty areas, including:

• Crisis Management – Accident & Health, Political Violence & Terrorism, Contingency

• Construction & Latent Defects

• Marine and Renewable Energy

• Corporate & Wholesale Property, Motor and Liability

• Financial Lines and Real Estate

You’ll play a key role in providing comprehensive support to our underwriters, building strong internal and external relationships, and ensuring exceptional customer outcomes. Occasional travel to our London office may be required.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Collaborating with Trading Underwriters to deliver end-to-end policy management for large, complex corporate risks

• Responding to enquiries and maintaining high standards of customer service

• Spotting and driving opportunities for operational improvements

• Delivering business-critical metrics alongside management

• Acting on feedback and sharing ideas with managers and peers

• Taking personal responsibility for your development in line with business strategy

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Proven record of delivering excellent customer outcomes

• Strong relationship-building skills

• Good IT knowledge (spreadsheets, databases, word processing)

• Previous underwriting experience is not essential – full training will be provided

• Experience in insurance or financial services is preferable but not essential

• Salary £26,800 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
