Actuarial Trainee

We’re looking for curious, analytical, and ambitious graduates to join our Actuarial Operational Services (AOS) team at Aviva Life & Pensions in Dublin. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Respond to technical customer and broker queries on Life & Pensions products, providing accurate explanations and solutions.

• Analyse and manipulate data using Excel and coding tools (SQL, VBA) and help automate processes for efficiency.

• Investigate and resolve business errors through root cause analysis, ensuring issues don’t recur and sharing lessons learned.

• Support cross-functional projects with actuarial input, data analysis, and modelling to deliver business objectives.

• Ensure compliance with actuarial standards and PRSA legislation while maintaining accuracy and meeting tight deadlines.

Skills & Experiences:

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or similar, with relevant work experience (ideally in life insurance).

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to solve complex problems and meet deadlines.

• Excellent communication skills to explain technical results clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

• Proficient IT skills, especially Excel; interest in coding (SQL, VBA or similar) is an advantage.

• Highly organised team player with strong time management and a sense of responsibility—your work will influence key business decisions.
