This role will suit an actuary (or a professional with equivalent relevant experience) with strong communication skills and the technical capability to support asset and liability management across the Aviva Group. It’s also ideal if you enjoy working with a variety of senior stakeholders and want to grow in a high‑profile, specialist team.

A bit about the job:

Our Asset Liability Management (ALM) team is the centre of excellence for ALM across Aviva. We’re a 20‑strong team responsible for asset–liability and hedging management for UK Life, AIL, Ireland and Group Centre. We support a wide range of funds, including With‑Profits, Matching Adjustment Portfolio (MAP) annuities and other non‑profit funds.

As an Actuarial Manager within the ALM team, you will help produce, manage and deliver ALM and hedging insights that support key decisions across the business. Your work will directly optimise the balance sheet while ensuring risks remain well controlled. Depending on your background, your responsibilities will span developing and implementing asset allocation strategies, managing hedging approaches, helping the business understand and manage market risk, supporting capital and liquidity initiatives, and producing high‑quality management information on ALM activity.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Actuary or relevant work experience.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, proactive way with strong planning and prioritisation skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with effective use of IT tools (e.g., Excel). Skills in Power Query, Evolver, Python or R would be an advantage.

  • A solid understanding of the Solvency II balance sheet, its components, and how assets and liabilities behave—especially under stress.

  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning and development, including supporting the growth of junior team members, and a good understanding or interest in financial markets and the insurer investment universe.
