Corporate Governance Manager– 6-month Fixed-Term Contract
National salary: circa £60,000 per annum
London salary: circa £65,000 per annum

This is a great job for someone with strong corporate governance experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You will have a proven track record of supporting Boards and Committees, managing governance processes, and building effective relationships with senior stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone who is confident operating across multiple legal entities and is excited by the opportunity to support UK General Insurance and Direct Line Boards during a period of change and growth.

We are seeking an immediate starter for this role, with the successful candidate ideally available to join within a month’s notice.

A bit about the job

Join our UK General Insurance Corporate Governance team, where you'll play a key role in ensuring our subsidiary Boards across UK General Insurance and Direct Line entities operate effectively and meet their governance obligations. You'll be responsible for managing end-to-end Board and Committee cycles, supporting statutory and regulatory reporting, and maintaining high standards of governance documentation and record keeping. Working closely with colleagues across Legal, Finance and Risk, as well as external auditors, you'll provide governance expertise during a period of significant business change, including integration activities and US expansion initiatives. You'll also help develop the capability of junior team members, contributing to the ongoing success of the wider team.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Strong corporate governance experience, ideally within financial services, with relevant CGI qualifications (exceptional candidates will be considered on a qualified-by-experience basis).
  • Confidence supporting Boards and Committees, with excellent minute-taking skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of statutory accounts, audit processes, and relevant governance and regulatory requirements.
  • A calm, proactive stakeholder manager who can build effective relationships and work at pace with senior colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and workstreams simultaneously.

  • National salary circa £60,000, London salary circa £65,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
