Creative Operations Lead - Competitive Salary circa £70,000-£85,000 (DOE)

The Creative Operations Lead is responsible for the operational leadership and performance of Aviva’s Creative Hub — our in-house creative agency. This role ensures the agency operates with excellence, efficiency, and commercial discipline, enabling the delivery of high-quality creative that supports Aviva’s go-to-market priorities across all brands and business units. 

Serving General Insurance, Wealth & Health, Aviva Investors, Direct Line, Churchill, Green Flag and additional Aviva brands, this role is critical in demonstrating the value of the Creative Hub as a strategic business partner and credible alternative to external agencies. 

Operating as a senior strategic partner to the Head of Marketing Communications and the Creative Hub Leadership Team, the Creative Operations Lead translates operational strategy into execution — designing operating models, owning systems and tools, embedding governance, and continuously evolving ways of working to allow creative teams to thrive at scale. 

A bit about the job

This role will play a central part in positioning Aviva as a benchmark for modern in-house creative capability and in unlocking future investment to support growth, innovation, and long-term value creation. 

You’ll shape how the Creative Hub runs day to day, making sure brilliant work lands on time, on budget, and at a quality we can all be proud of. You’ll turn our strategy into clear plans, clear priorities, and clear progress — removing blockers so our teams can focus on what they do best: creating standout work.

You’ll keep our systems, tools, and processes running smoothly, and keep improving them too. Whether that’s spotting bottlenecks, simplifying how we work, or bringing in new tech, you’ll help us move faster and smarter.

You’ll plan and balance capacity across our creative, production and studio teams, using data to help us make confident resourcing choices. And you’ll build a sustainable mix of skills, partners and freelancers so we can flex when demand peaks.

You’ll own our budget and guide commercial decisions, showing the value we create and helping the business invest wisely. And as part of the Leadership Team, you’ll shape our culture — keeping it inclusive, high‑performing, and full of momentum.

You’ll build strong relationships across Aviva, bring clarity through great governance and reporting, and give senior leaders the insight they need to make good calls. Most of all, you’ll help create the environment where world‑class creativity thrives.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • Senior experience in creative operations, marketing operations, or agency leadership (in-house or agency-side). 

  • Proven ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels within complex, matrixed organisations. 

  • Demonstrated success leading change, transformation, or operational maturity programmes. 

  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with credibility at senior levels. 

  • Exceptional background in transformation, consulting and programme leadership within a creative agency.

  • Salary circa £70,000-£85,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
