Media Relations Manager - Salary circa £55.000

Part time - 3 days/week
This is the perfect role for someone who comes from a PR, Media Relations, External Communications or Journalism background, and who can showcase a ‘news savvy’ attitude matched with superb stakeholder management, great writing, and organisational skills.
A bit about the job
We are looking for a Media Relations Manager to join our highly qualified and vibrant Media Relations Team. The successful applicant will manage external communications for our UK Life Insurance business. This role is job share and is part-time (three days per week).
The chosen post-holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality proactive PR campaigns alongside providing communication counsel to senior internal stakeholders. They will also develop and maintain strong and positive relationships with key journalists as well as handle issues to protect corporate reputation, supporting the production and delivery of integrated communications, working alongside our internal and digital communications teams.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
PR, Media relations and/or external communications expertise, with an understanding of what makes a good story and excellent writing skills
Journalism experience would also be advantageous, as too experience in a corporate environment
Comfortable working in a flexible way outside of the normal 9-5 (the news never sleeps!), to deliver to tight timescales and support colleagues
Confident with balancing multiple priorities simultaneously
Experience in financial services would be helpful but isn’t crucial

Starting salary circa £55.000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
Bonus opportunity – 10% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
