Cyber Security Specialist

We are seeking Security Specialist to be part of our third-party hyper care team. This opportunity could be ideal if you are looking for a challenging but rewarding role: Your responsibilities will be ensuring our critical suppliers adhere to and comply with our cybersecurity requirements, resolving escalations, and issues and properly managing associated gaps and risk.  

You will have a good understanding of technology, security, formal governance and risk management structures, delivering results aligned to Aviva’s internal controls and policies. You will be expected to establish good working relationships with stakeholders, manage and resolve risks, communicate effectively, and quickly consume and appropriately challenge details of data and MI.   

A bit about the job

As a Security Specialist in our Third-party Hyper Care team, you’ll help make sure our critical suppliers meet Aviva’s cybersecurity requirements and deliver secure, reliable services. You’ll be part of a specialist team that advises the business, resolves escalations, and keeps risks well managed and understood. 

 
You’ll build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams, analyse security data, and provide informed challenge to help protect Aviva’s infrastructure. This role is central to ensuring we stay compliant, resilient, and ahead of emerging risks. 

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • An IT, Cybersecurity, or supplier management background 
  • A level of technical experience and acumen; able to effectively contribute to SME-level discussions and provide narrative to non-technical stakeholders   
  • An innate curiosity, desire to challenge, initiative, and willingness to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and processes  
  • Experience of working within a formal security control and governance framework  
  • Ability to confidently and effectively understand, articulate and manage security risks

  • Starting salary London: circa £55,000 / National: circa £45,000 based (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
