We are looking for a Data Architect who possesses deep expertise in reference and master data management, optimizing its designs to support the business and ensure a common language for Aviva's data assets. They are responsible for the operational and analytical data designs and information flows that support various business capabilities, enabling data to be governed as a valuable asset.

A bit about the role:

Focused on Information Architecture, the Data Architect in this role is responsible for designing and governing the structure, semantics, and flow of data across an organisation.

The Architect also designs metadata to enable governance controls, such as compliant data retention, access, and usage. They add value to the organization by ensuring that enterprise data assets are recognized, identified, organized, and integrated to maximize their value to Aviva.

Understanding that perfect data is an unrealistic expectation, the Data Architect uses their experience to provide pragmatic, valuable, and achievable recommendations.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Enterprise Data Architecture and Architecture Patterns: Designing and implementing enterprise-wide data solutions aligned to Aviva’s business and data strategic aims, incorporating the relevant architectural frameworks and industry standards.
  • Metadata, Data Quality, Ontologies, Taxonomies & Governance: Design metadata to support governance controls such as data retention, access, and usage.
  • Master & Reference Data: Develop strategies for managing master and reference data to ensure consistency and a common business language.
  • Data Integration: Formulate integration strategies that enable seamless data flow across platforms and domains.
  • Data Design & Modelling and Information Flows: Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models and define information flows that support business capabilities. Experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence using Data Vault 2.0 and Kimball Dimensional Modelling techniques
