A bit about the job

We’re looking for someone to help us build strong, reliable data foundations across UKGI. You’ll join a team that works at the heart of our data landscape, shaping how we measure, understand and improve data quality. Your work will help us make better decisions, support our customers, and build confidence in the data we use across the business. You’ll partner with teams across engineering, governance and operations, designing the controls that keep our data accurate, consistent and ready for the future.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Strong SQL skills, including profiling, data rule design, and translating data issues into clear insights.
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, and an understanding of ETL/ELT and data pipeline concepts.
  • Ability to design, apply and embed data quality frameworks, rules, and controls across varied data environments.
  • Confident working with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including facilitating workshops and simplifying complex topics.
  • Familiarity with governance and metadata tools (such as Collibra), with the ability to support data lineage, standards, and quality best practice.

  • Starting salary circa £50,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
