Engineering Programme Delivery Lead– Salary £70,000 – £80,000

Aviva have embarked on a major programme across its UK businesses, to modernise and transform the Customer Data & Marketing platform estate using Industry best Data management products like Reltio, Adobe Experience platforms, cloud, containers underpinned by DevSecOps using Aviva Data governance standards and compliance.

We are looking for a highly motivated Engineering Programme Lead who can drive Data and Marketing transformation programmes consisting of various workstreams to deal with the technology implementation, process and people changes required for the transformation.

A bit about the job:

This critical programme will cross all aspects of Data & Marketing technologies, requiring strong organisational skills, an analytical and delivery focussed mindset and excellent stakeholder management. You understand not only the technical value of Data products but also their business value, as an organisational asset. You understand what it takes to deliver large Data & Marketing projects using a modern SDLC without compromising on quality.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Programme Leadership & Governance - Proven experience as a Programme Manager leading complex data and marketing transformation initiatives, establishing governance frameworks, managing risk, and driving delivery across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Data Architecture & Engineering Expertise - Deep knowledge of data management principles including data governance, quality, validation, and architecture; successfully delivered Snowflake migrations, DBT transformations, and master data management with complex match/survivorship logic.
  • Technical Delivery Across Diverse Stacks - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), CI/CD best practices, ETL pipelines, and modern data tools such as Reltio SaaS, Adobe Experience Manager, and Cyclops/Redshift; strong understanding of engineering practices across development, testing, and operations.
  • Strategic Planning & Stakeholder Engagement - Skilled in translating high-level requirements into actionable roadmaps and deliverables; chairing steering groups, managing escalations, and engaging stakeholders across CIO, audit, and transformation governance forums.
  • Agile & Change Management Expertise - Certified in Agile methodologies (PSM1/2, SAFe, PSPO1, PRINCE2); adept at applying Agile, SAFe, DevOps, and waterfall frameworks to manage delivery risk, change impact, and lifecycle transitions from concept to BAU.

  • Starting salary between £70,000 - £80,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
