Financial Reporting and Controls Lead
An exciting opportunity has arisen as the Financial Reporting & Control Lead reporting to the CFO for the Irish General Insurance business for a 12 month fixed term contract. The successful candidate will gain invaluable exposure across all aspect of the finance function.
This role will work closely with the wider Aviva Group and offers excellent opportunities to interact with senior members of the UK and Ireland teams. In particular, the successful candidate will attend and present at the Audit Committee, be part of the Ireland Finance Management Team and manage finance communications with the Central Bank of Ireland and EY audit.
The role will involve working closely with the UK GI finance teams who produce the Irish financial results on behalf of the Irish CFO. This position will suit someone who is energetic, self-motivated, shows good initiative and works well as part of a team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all reporting requirements for Irish legal entities
- Manage monthly and annual reporting under IFRS17 – Review and signoff BS/P&L
- Review and signoff Financial Statements
- Manage quarterly and annual Solvency II Reporting to CBI (QRTs/NST/SFCR/RSR)
- Manage Quarterly and Annual Audit Committee papers/actions, log/set, agenda, alongside COSEC and attend/present at meetings
- Review and signoff regulatory returns (NCID/MIBI/MIB/IIF/CSO/FSPO etc.) and signoff Group reporting requirements for IGI
Skills & Experiences:
- Professional accountancy qualification: ACCA, CIMA, ACA with significant post qualification experience within the Insurance Industry
- Experience in IFRS 17 and Solvency II regulatory submissions advantageous
- Numeric skills -a strong aptitude for reviewing, assessing and coherently presenting financial information
- Excellent verbal, written communication & presentation capabilities
- Team management experience preferred
