The Management Information (MI) team at Aviva Life & Pensions Ireland (ALPI) is seeking a MI Specialist to join their team. The MI Team provides insightful   information in a digestible and efficient manner to staff across various business areas. If you have an interest in working with applications such as SQL, Python, Snowflake and Qlik Sense, this could be the ideal role for you.

In this role, you will support team members and collaborate with various business areas to deliver key metrics. This role is critical in designing and delivering performance metrics that drive actionable insights and operational improvements for our Life and Pensions business. We are looking for a technically minded individual with a passion for coding, who is a team player with strong communication and presentation skills. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Developing and sustaining our reporting to monitor key metrics
  • Conducting ad-hoc analyses to transform complex data into actionable business insights
  • Creating reports using Qlik Sense, Python, SQL or VBA-based processes
  • Automating processes across our Finance and Actuarial teams, as well as the broader business, using tools like Python and SQL
  • Work closely with IT teams to access, integrate, and leverage data from multiple systems.
  • Partner with transformation leaders to support broader change initiatives.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency in SQL platforms for data analytics and database management is essential.
  • Proficiency in using Python to automate repetitive or manual processes, enhancing efficiency and reducing operational overhead
  • Ability to code with VBA to streamline workflows and automate tasks within Microsoft Office Excel
  • Experience in developing or utilising Qlik Sense is beneficial.
  • Experience in Insurance is not required but is an advantage.
