A bit about the job: You’ll be part of our Commercial Lines GI business, working closely with Underwriting, Pricing, and Personal Lines teams. Your role will help shape our analytics agenda by delivering geospatial insights and innovative rating factors. You’ll also support our Flood Strategy, helping us select the right risks to underwrite. The team works across Operations, Claims, Risk, and Group Analytics, so collaboration is key. Together, we build mapping systems and applications that bring data to life for our users.

 

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • A degree/MSc or equivalent qualification in ideally Geography, GIS, Data Science, Maths or Computer Science
  • Strong GIS analytics skills using QGIS, Geoserver, Postgres, and PostGIS.
  • Confident working with relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience with R or Python, especially for APIs or web mapping.
  • Knowledge of flood modelling and open-source GIS tools is a bonus.
