We’re looking for a confident and collaborative leader to head up our Capital Management team in Ireland. This role is all about shaping and delivering our capital strategy, helping us stay resilient and forward-looking. You’ll lead a team of experts, working closely with senior stakeholders to drive performance and innovation. Your work will directly influence how we manage risk, allocate resources, and meet regulatory expectations. It’s a key role in a team that’s central to Aviva’s long-term success. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Capital Management team, fostering engagement, continuous improvement, and alignment with Aviva’s strategic goals. 
  • Oversee capital planning, forecasting, and regulatory compliance, ensuring key balance sheet exposures are managed within Board-approved risk appetite and evolving regulatory standards. 
  • Drive capital efficiency and innovation, including the development of capital-light solutions for product lines such as Workplace Pensions, through policy enhancement and stakeholder collaboration. 
  • Lead a programme of ALM, hedging, and Strategic Asset Allocation reviews, ensuring shareholder and policyholder assets generate appropriate investment returns in line with risk appetite. 
  • Represent Aviva externally and build strong internal networks, staying ahead of industry trends and integrating insights into the capital framework to influence and deliver results. 

Skills & Experiences 

  • Strong leadership experience in capital management or financial risk within a regulated environment. 
  • Deep understanding of capital frameworks, regulatory requirements, and financial strategy. 
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Proven ability to drive change, innovation, and team development. 
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to delivery.
