Head of Change Delivery, CIO Customer & Marketing (C&M)

Are you a senior technology‑enabled transformation leader with a passion for delivering large‑scale change? We’re looking for a Head of Change Delivery to lead the planning, execution and governance of major programmes across our CIO Customer & Marketing (C&M) collaborating with C&M function to fuel customer acquisition and growth for Aviva. This includes high‑impact transformation across our Digital, Data and MarTech platforms — all central to Aviva’s strategic ambitions.

Reporting directly to the CIO for Customer & Marketing, you’ll play a critical role in shaping and executing our change strategy, ensuring we deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes. You’ll partner with senior leaders across Aviva’s CIO and C&M organisations and lead a large portfolio with a change budget of circa £50m.

You’ll join a high‑performing, collaborative leadership team where transformation, agility and customer impact are at the heart of everything we do.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will lead the end‑to‑end CIO C&M change delivery portfolio, ensuring programmes consistently deliver against strategic, technological and customer‑focused outcomes. You will shape and execute the overarching change strategy, aligning plans with Aviva’s enterprise architecture and broader business direction, while providing strong governance and oversight across major digital, data cyber and other efficiency initiatives to maintain pace, quality and financial control. Working closely with senior stakeholders across CIO, Digital, Data and the wider C&M organisation, you’ll influence key transformation decisions and drive alignment across diverse groups. You’ll also be responsible for building and developing high‑performing delivery teams, embedding effective ways of working and fostering continuous improvement. Alongside this, you will oversee supplier management to ensure our external partners deliver strong commercial and delivery performance, uphold the governance frameworks and proactive risk management, and support transparent portfolio reporting, budgeting and performance management to maximise value for money across the entire portfolio.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven leadership of working in matrixed set - ups driving large, complex technology‑enabled change portfolios in a regulated environment.

  • Strong strategic capability with the ability to shape and execute change strategy while driving delivery at pace.

  • Excellent stakeholder influence and communication skills, operating confidently at executive level.

  • Deep experience in governance, risk management, financial oversight and supplier management.

  • A track record in building high‑performing delivery teams and embedding agile and modern ways of working.
