A bit about the job:
This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned technology leader to shape one of Aviva’s most strategically important data transformations.
As Head of Enterprise Data Implementation, you will lead the engineering and delivery of Aviva’s new enterprise‑scale master data, API distribution, discovery and workflow platforms—core capabilities that will underpin operational excellence, digital interoperability, analytics and GenAI enablement across the organisation.
You will build and lead a high‑performing engineering function, drive multi‑million‑pound programme delivery, and influence senior stakeholders across Markets, Functions and Technology to embed authoritative data at the heart of Aviva’s operating model.
Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership of large‑scale data or platform engineering functions, delivering enterprise‑grade data, API or integration platforms within complex, regulated environments.
- Deep engineering expertise in cloud‑native architectures (AWS), micro‑services, event‑driven integration and MDM technologies, with a track record of designing platforms that meet stringent performance, security and resilience requirements.
- Significant experience delivering multi‑million‑pound technology programmes, demonstrating strong delivery discipline, financial stewardship and risk management across multi‑year roadmaps.
- Capability to build, scale and lead high‑performing engineering teams (30–60+ people), including senior technical leads, architects and platform engineers, while fostering a culture of autonomy, quality and continuous improvement.
- Strong stakeholder influence and executive‑level communication skills, able to navigate complex organisational structures, shape enterprise‑wide decisions and drive adoption across business and technology domains.

- Salary: London circa £150,000/ National circa £130,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
