A bit about the job
This role sits at the heart of Aviva’s data science strategy for Personal Lines Telematics. You’ll lead the development of advanced analytics capabilities that help us better understand driver behaviour and transform how we price and manage risk.
Working across pricing, underwriting and telematics, you’ll play a key role in setting direction and driving adoption of data-led decision making. You’ll be accountable for delivering high-impact models, influencing senior stakeholders, and ensuring our approach remains at the forefront of the market. Your work will directly shape commercial performance, customer outcomes and our long-term data strategy.
What you’ll do
You will lead the design and delivery of advanced models using telematics data to shape pricing and risk strategies at scale, setting the direction for how we use data across the business. Working in close partnership with pricing, underwriting and telematics leaders, you’ll turn complex insights into clear, strategic actions.
You’ll champion the use of data to drive behavioural change, guiding the development of driver coaching initiatives that improve safety outcomes. You’ll also explore and embed new techniques and approaches, ensuring we maximise the long-term value of our data assets.
Alongside this, you’ll influence senior stakeholders by translating insight into compelling recommendations that inform key commercial and strategic decisions.
Skills and experience we’re looking for
- Deep experience applying data science to telematics
- Strong expertise in statistical modelling, machine learning and advanced analytics techniques
- Advanced programming skills (e.g. Python, R, SQL) and experience working with large-scale data environments
- Proven ability to lead projects or teams and deliver measurable business impact
- Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, translating technical insight into strategic decisions

- Starting salary circa £60,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
