This is a great job for someone who…

…loves bringing engineering excellence to life through automation.

Are you someone who enjoys shaping modern engineering practices, guiding teams, and building platforms that truly make a difference?

Do you love simplifying complexity, supporting others to grow, and creating resilient, scalable automation solutions?

This role would suit someone with strong experience in automation or platform engineering who is ready for a step up into broader leadership—or an established engineering leader who thrives in environments where low-code and DevOps come together.

It’s ideal for someone comfortable navigating a large, matrixed organisation and excited to influence how automation is delivered across Aviva.

You’ll join a team focused on enabling high-quality, reusable automation assets and driving predictable delivery through Agile and DevOps practices.

You’ll work closely with business areas to shape value-driven solutions, support platform stability and observability, and help our operating model evolve toward DevOps.

Alongside this, you’ll provide engineering expertise to Central Operations for release readiness, incident support, and deep-dive technical problem solving.

Skills and experience we’re looking for :

  • Strong technical judgement, with the ability to simplify complex engineering choices and make high-quality decisions quickly.
  • Solid understanding of low-code engineering, DevOps, SRE practices, and automation trends.
  • Experience leading engineering teams, with the ability to coach and develop others—especially low-code developers.
  • Excellent planning, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a large, matrixed organisation.
  • Proven engineering capability across automation platforms such as Appian, Tungsten/IDP, and Power Platform, alongside CI/CD and observability practices.
