An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Aviva Life & Pensions Ireland (ALPI) team for a Project Manager to support the delivery of a project within their change agenda for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role will be focused around performing the key project manager responsibilities in a support role to the Corporate Development Actuary who sits in the Strategy & Governance team and is responsible for driving the successful delivery of this project. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, understand and coordinate the delivery of a detailed project plan to monitor and report on progress to ensure project is delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. 

  • Set-up the appropriate project governance and ensure adherence to Change standards. 

  • Ensure resource availability and monitor the supply of project resources.  

  • Maintain and monitor risks, dependencies, and issues. 

  • Track milestones, outcomes, and ultimate benefits. 

  • Report on project status and escalate to senior management and PMO, as needed. 

  • Running workshops and engaging stakeholders as needed to ensure effective delivery. 

  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties, as needed. 

  • Manage regular project meetings including the development of inputs and outputs. 

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. 

  • Perform other related duties, as assigned. 

 

Skills & Experience: 

  • Proven experience of delivering change within the Financial Services industry including the following: 

  • Good knowledge of and track record of delivery of regulatory and/or section 166 type change successfully. 

  • Management of project scope, delivery timeline and detail plans to deliver time-bound initiatives. 

  • Cross-functional stakeholder management experience and experience working with Actuarial and/or Legal teams. 

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills (verbal and written). 

  • Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills. 

  • A strong decision-making and prioritisation skillset, with ability to operate effectively under pressure in dealing with multiple stakeholders. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills to unblock issues and mitigate risks. 

  • Relevant project management qualifications and experience of applying change methodologies. 

  • Experience with project management software tools e.g., Planview or equivalent.
