Reinsurance Actuary
Reinsurance Actuary – Salary Competitive (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
Location: Norwich or York
Are you someone with experience in Defined Benefit pensions, annuity insurance or reinsurance administration who enjoys solving complex problems and working with large datasets?
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build on their actuarial, pensions or reinsurance experience within a team that plays a critical role in supporting Aviva's growing Retirement business. Whether you're a qualified actuary, progressing through the actuarial exams, or have developed strong technical expertise through experience, this role offers the chance to work on high-profile reinsurance arrangements while developing specialist knowledge in a growing area of the market.

Working closely with reinsurers, trustees and internal stakeholders, you'll support the effective operation of reinsurance agreements that help manage risk and deliver capital-efficient solutions. You'll be responsible for reviewing and analysing reinsurance data, premium calculations, accounts and collateral materials, supporting the onboarding of new transactions, and helping to enhance processes, controls and systems that underpin the team's success.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Experience within Defined Benefit pensions, annuity insurance, reinsurance operations or a related actuarial environment
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with experience reviewing complex calculations and data
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Good working knowledge of Excel, with VBA and SQL skills advantageous
- Qualified actuary, working towards actuarial qualification, or able to demonstrate equivalent actuarial or pensions experience
