This is a great job for someone who is an experienced qualified life insurance actuary looking to broaden their experience within a Risk function. This role may particularly suit someone with experience in product, pricing, finance business partnering or internal audit who enjoys working closely with the business to help achieve its objectives in a safe and controlled way. It would be a great opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their actuarial or risk career and develop their experience in independent risk oversight.

A bit about the job:

This role sits within the Global Life Insurance Risk team and is responsible for providing independent oversight and challenge across a range of life insurance risks. Working closely with pricing and business teams, you'll help ensure risks are identified, assessed, measured and managed in line with risk appetite and governance requirements. You'll review actuarial and pricing activity, including new products, distribution opportunities and pricing strategies, providing independent risk opinions and supporting effective risk mitigation. The role also includes assessing emerging risks, supporting oversight of international life insurance businesses, maintaining governance frameworks and helping ensure actuarial work is delivered in line with professional standards.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Qualified actuary (FIA/FFA) or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of life insurance products and a strong understanding of how life insurance businesses operate and meet customer needs.
  • Strong understanding of life insurance risks, including mortality, morbidity, longevity and persistency, and how these risks can be measured, managed and mitigated.
  • Experience reviewing, challenging and influencing business decisions through effective stakeholder engagement and business partnering.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively within a collaborative environment.
