A bit about the job
Aviva Zero is a greenfield Personal Lines insurer with big ambitions—to be the best in the UK market.
As part of this innovative start-up-style team, backed by Aviva’s expertise and resources, you’ll help build and deliver high-quality software that drives excellent customer outcomes.
You’ll work closely with Product Owners and SMEs, contributing to continuous development and delivery, while helping shape our engineering standards and practices.
Our next big impact project is extending our established stack and business to include additional propositions.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Strong programming experience across multiple languages, ideally TypeScript with React plus backend experience in any language, with knowledge of, or willingness to learn, Go.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies, continuous deployment, and DevOps practices
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and any experience of event driven architectures and big table design would be ideal
A collaborative mindset and a passion for contributing ideas and solutions
A commitment to delivering high-quality work and continuously improving

Salary: London Circa £85000 National Circa £65000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
Bonus opportunity - 10% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
