Are you someone with strong Defined Benefit pensions experience who is looking to develop their career within the growing Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) market?

This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid DB pensions background who enjoys analytical work, solving complex problems and delivering high-quality customer outcomes. Whether you're progressing through actuarial exams (with study support available) or have built your expertise through experience, this role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your existing knowledge in a new and rewarding insurance environment.

A bit about the job:

You'll join our Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) actuarial team, supporting the implementation and ongoing management of BPA schemes for our customers. Working closely with operations, trustees, auditors and wider business teams, you'll carry out and review actuarial calculations, maintain administration factors and support valuation work for trustee and corporate accounting purposes. You'll also contribute to technical projects and continuous improvement initiatives, helping ensure our processes remain robust, efficient and deliver great outcomes for customers.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Experience working within Defined Benefit pensions
  • Experience calculating transfer values and/or supporting actuarial valuation work
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Good IT skills, including Excel (VBA knowledge would be advantageous)
  • Working towards actuarial qualification or equivalent experience gained through a pensions or actuarial environment

Our purpose - with you today, for a better tomorrow – is a promise we make to our colleagues too.  And one of the ways we live up to that promise is by investing in you.  We have so much to offer when it comes to being an Aviva colleague.

  • Generous pension scheme - e.g. if you put in 8%, Aviva adds 14%
  • 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days
  • Aviva-funded Private Medical Benefit to help you get expert support when you need it
  • Make your money go further - Up to 40% discount on Aviva products, and other retailer discounts
  • Up to £1,200 of free Aviva shares per year through our Matching Share Plan and share in the success of Aviva with our Save As You Earn scheme
  • Brilliantly supportive policies including parental and carer’s leave
