Data Privacy and Ethical AI Lead

A bit about the job:

The purpose of this role is to spearhead Aviva’s Group-wide data privacy and ethical AI agenda, ensuring personal data is treated responsibly, and that the development of AI systems and models is ethical.

You will develop and maintain Aviva’s Group wide Data Privacy and Ethical AI Frameworks and ensure that operational processes run in accordance with these frameworks.

You'll scan the horizon for new developments and engage with people across the group to help them understand and make good practice happen.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Expert knowledge of UK and European Data Privacy Legislation and Regulation including GDPR, The Data Use and Access Act, PECR etc.

  • Expert knowledge of international AI legislation and Regulation e.g. the EU AI Act

  • Demonstrable understanding of AI systems and models, including machine learning models, neural networks, generative AI, and agentic AI.

  • Demonstrable understanding of the ethical, security and safety risks associated with AI systems and models, including model poisoning, model inversion, and adversarial AI as well as the importance of human centricity, environmental sustainability, fairness, alignment to human rights, and transparency/explain ability.

  • Technical experience within data analytics, engineering and/or AI development would be an advantage.
