A bit about the job:
We’re looking for an DevOps Engineer to join our Customer Data Platforms (CDP) Centre of Excellence. You’ll help our platform teams deliver faster and smarter by enabling agile infrastructure and DevOps practices. This role is all about making our cloud systems scalable, efficient, and future-ready. You’ll work across teams to share knowledge, improve release processes, and support self-serve capabilities. It’s a chance to shape how Aviva builds and delivers customer-centric solutions.
In this role, you’ll support platform teams with infrastructure provisioning and code, helping them adopt consistent patterns and templates while maintaining a clear view of accounts, IAM roles, and deployment jobs across Aviva’s AWS environments. You’ll champion agile release practices, including blue-green deployments, and contribute to a continuous release strategies. You’ll also lead the design of scalable infrastructure patterns, support the transition to Gen 2.0 AWS accounts, and provide consultancy from development through to production to ensure our cloud infrastructure is robust, efficient, and future-ready.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Proven experience in AWS infrastructure engineering, DevOps practices, and release management
Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using CloudBees Jenkins and Azure DevOps Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, Packer, and Ansible
Confident working with *nix-based server configuration and shell scripting
Great communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently

Starting salary between £50,000 – £60,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
