A bit about the job
You’ll lead our UKGI Governance & Assurance Regulatory Development team, making sure UKGI stays compliant and trusted in a fast-changing regulatory landscape. Your work will cover all UKGI business lines, helping us evolve delivery against Consumer Duty principles and deliver good outcomes for customers. You’ll own key frameworks and reporting processes, including collation of FCA returns, co-ordinate regulatory change activity across the GI business, and act as a trusted partner to the Risk function, internal teams and regulators as required. This role is about strategic leadership—setting direction, driving efficiency, and ensuring regulatory changes are implemented smoothly. You’ll also mentor and develop your team, building capability and best practice across Aviva.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Extensive experience working in a Compliance role, operating in an FCA regulated insurance firm with deep understanding of Consumer Duty and knowledge of regulatory requirements such as ICOBS, PROD, DISP, SYSC, and FCG. Understanding of Lloyd’s requirements is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with experience delivering strategic and regulatory change, and the ability to drive hands‑on, pragmatic solutions, ideally within general insurance.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships and managing senior, board level stakeholders.
- Exceptional written communication skills, able to synthesise large amounts of information into clear, concise reports.
- Proven ability to manage operational, conduct and regulatory risks effectively.

- London salary: circa £130,000, national salary: circa £115,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
