A bit about the job:
As a Lead Data Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering data solutions across our development and IT change teams. You’ll bring technical expertise to support solution design, ensure high standards in data pipeline development, and help deliver projects on time and within budget. You’ll be joining a collaborative team focused on building scalable, secure, and innovative data platforms that support Aviva’s strategic goals.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Strong hands-on experience in ETL/Data Warehouse/Big Data environments, with a consultancy mindset.
Proficiency in developing data pipelines using PySpark and SQL, with orchestration tools like Airflow or Tivoli.
Experience working with cloud data ecosystems, ideally AWS.
Knowledge of OLAP implementation, preferably using Snowflake.
A passion for exploring new technologies and mentoring others in best practices.

Starting salary circa £70,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
Bonus opportunity – 10% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
