Senior Compliance Manager

We’re looking for a Senior Compliance Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract to join our team at Aviva Insurance Ireland DAC (AIIDAC). You’ll work closely with our Head of Compliance to shape and deliver our compliance strategy. This role is all about helping the business understand its regulatory responsibilities and supporting a culture that puts customers first. You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team that’s focused on doing the right thing. Your work will help us stay ahead of regulatory change and deliver fair outcomes for our customers. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Support the Head of Compliance with reporting to senior committees and the Board- Prepare and deliver structured updates on regulatory developments and compliance status to key governance forums, including the Board, Board Risk Committee, and Group Compliance. Ensure insights are clear, actionable, and aligned with strategic priorities. 
  • Lead compliance input on business projects and initiatives- Represent the Compliance function in cross-functional working groups, providing timely advice and challenge to ensure regulatory requirements are embedded in project delivery and strategic planning. 
  • Monitor regulatory developments and advise the business on changes- Stay ahead of emerging regulatory trends and translate complex updates into practical guidance. Work with business units to implement changes effectively and maintain compliance across operations. 
  • Coach and support team members to grow their skills- Provide mentoring and development opportunities for compliance colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team. 
  • Build strong relationships with regulators and internal stakeholders- Act in an oversight capacity on returns/information provided to regulatory bodies, including the Central Bank of Ireland. Collaborate with senior leaders across the business to promote a shared understanding of compliance and conduct risk. 

Skills & Experiences 

  • Professional qualification (e.g. ACOI or equivalent) 
    A recognised compliance or risk management qualification that demonstrates your technical expertise and commitment to professional standards. 
  • Strong experience in a senior compliance role within the Irish insurance industry 
    Proven track record of operating at a strategic level in a regulated insurance environment, with deep understanding of compliance frameworks and conduct risk. 
  • Knowledge of Irish and EEA insurance regulations 
    Familiarity with cross-border regulatory requirements and the ability to interpret and apply them in a practical business context. 
  • Excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management skills 
    Able to influence and engage senior leaders, regulators, and cross-functional teams through clear, confident, and empathetic communication. 
  • Confident, proactive, and solutions-focused 
    Comfortable making decisions in complex situations, with a mindset geared towards problem-solving, continuous improvement, and delivering fair customer outcomes.
